WOODEN HIGH-RISE

THE ELEVEN STORY INCUBATOR SPACE IS LOCATED IN THE HEART OF THE ARTS DISTRICT. THE BUILDING MAXIMIZES THE BENEFITS AND CAPABILITIES OF WOOD USING PREFABRICATED CROSS LAMINATED TIMBER PANELS IN THE FLOORS AND GLULAM BEAMS IN THE COLUMNS.

THE THREE INTERNAL CORES MIMIC THE DIRECTIONALITY AND STABILITY OF A TRIPOD. TWO CORES ARE FOR EGRESS AND THE THIRD IS FOR BATHROOMS AND ELEVATORS. TWO FLOORS LOCATED BELOW GROUND LEVEL ARE DEDICATED TO A RESTAURANT AND PUBLIC SPACE SURROUNDING THE BUILDING. THE INDOOR/ OUTDOOR SUNKEN PATIO BRINGS LIGHT FURTHER DOWN INTO THE BUILDING AND PROVIDES A SECLUDED QUIET GARDEN SPACE.
